Handwoven from premium high-grade nylon, the Frosty Fly Tapered Furled Leader delivers exceptional strength, smooth energy transfer, and effortless casting performance. Its precision-tapered design transfers energy efficiently for excellent turnover, delicate fly presentations, and drag-free drifts, while virtually eliminating line memory straight out of the package.
Each leader is pre-looped for fast loop-to-loop attachment to your fly line, allowing quick leader changes. Every leader comes fitted with a 0.16 mm tippet attached to an integrated micro tippet ring, so it's ready to fish right out of the package. The tippet ring also lets you replace tippet without shortening the leader, extending the leader's lifespan.
The ultra-light micro tippet ring adds virtually no weight, helping preserve delicate presentations while making tippet replacement quick and easy.

Choosing the Right Furled Leader
5 ft (1.5 m)
Ideal for small streams, overgrown creeks, and tight casting conditions where accuracy and quick turnover matter more than casting distance.
6 ft (1.8 m)
Our most versatile all-around trout leader. Performs exceptionally well on rivers and streams with dry flies, nymphs, and small wet flies, making it an excellent choice for everyday trout fishing.
7 ft (2.1 m)
Designed for clear water, longer casts, and selective trout. The additional length creates more natural presentations while keeping the fly line farther from wary fish.
Recommended Tippet Length
For best performance, add approximately 0.9–1.2 m (3–4 ft) of tippet to the end of your furled leader. Adjust the length based on fly size, water clarity, current speed, wind conditions, and fish behavior.
Smaller flies often perform best with longer tippets for a more natural presentation.
Larger or more wind-resistant flies are generally easier to turn over with shorter tippets.
In clear, slow-moving water or when targeting selective trout, longer tippets often produce more natural drifts. Don't hesitate to use up to 1.5 m (5 ft) of tippet when conditions call for it.
In windy conditions, a shorter tippet—around 0.6 m (2 ft)—is typically easier to cast and turn over. Pairing it with a slightly heavier tippet diameter can also improve casting control.
