Tube Fly System

Modular tubes, junctions, and weights for durable, high-performance tube flies.

Build modern, durable tube flies with interchangeable tubes, junctions, and weights. Designed for salmon, steelhead, trout, and predator flies, our Tube Fly System gives tiers complete control over profile, weight, and hook placement.

Collection: Tube Fly System

Tube flies offer a modern, efficient way to tie durable and highly effective patterns for salmon, steelhead, trout, pike, and other predatory species. Instead of tying directly to the hook, the fly is tied on a tube—allowing the hook to be rigged separately. This improves hook-up rates, reduces leverage during the fight, and greatly increases the lifespan of each fly.

Our Tube Fly System includes inner tubes, outer tubes, junction tubes, and brass tube weights, giving tiers complete flexibility to design flies that match specific water speeds, depths, and target species.

Inner Tube

Inner tubes serve as the core of the fly and act as the foundation for all materials. Lightweight and flexible, they’re ideal for small to medium tube flies and for creating modular systems where you can stack tubes or slide weights as needed.

Outer Tube

Outer tubes provide a larger-diameter body that slides over the inner tube. They help build deeper profiles for larger salmon or steelhead patterns, and they protect the inner tube while offering color and structure to the fly.

Junction Tube

Junction tubes (often called “hook holders”) fit onto the back of the fly and hold the hook securely in place. Their soft, flexible material grips the hook shank without cracking—ensuring correct alignment and reducing fouling.

Brass Tube Weights

Brass tubes add weight without increasing bulk. Perfect for fast water or deeper presentations, they let you control sink rate while maintaining a clean silhouette. Slide them onto the inner tube before tying for balance and improved swimming action.

Why Choose Tube Flies?

  • Higher hook-up rates – Short-shank hooks articulate more freely.
  • Longer fly life – Fish can’t leverage the hook to destroy the fly.
  • Interchangeable hooks – Swap hooks easily depending on conditions.
  • Custom weighting – Add brass tubes for deeper runs or remove weight for shallow water.
  • Versatility – Ideal for salmon, steelhead, trout, sea-run species, and warmwater predators.

Buying Tips

  • Choose Inner Tubes for standard bodies and slim patterns.
  • Use Outer Tubes to build bulkier bodies or add color contrast.
  • Add Junction Tubes to secure the hook behind the fly.
  • Use Brass Tube Weights to control sink rate without adding bulk.
  • Mix tube sizes to create modular flies tailored to different water conditions.

Tube flies are a powerful, modern system that gives tiers unmatched control over performance, longevity, and movement—making them a favorite among experienced salmon and steelhead anglers.
