Tungsten beads will make your nymphs sink deeper, faster, and get in the fishing zone quickly, thus enabling you to catch more fish. Tungsten is almost two times heavier than lead and has approximately 50% more weight than brass beads of the same size. This means you get your fly close to the bottom quicker. Another benefit of using tungsten is its high weight density - it allows you to use smaller beads and tie slimmer and smaller nymphs than with other materials. Tungsten is a non-toxic material, the most eco-friendly sinker that you can find today. It is an exceptionally durable, corrosion-proof material. Tungsten (also known as wolfram) is a chemical element. Its name comes from the Swedish language, meaning ‘heavy stone’. Slotted Tungsten Beads are excellent material for tying nymphs, as well as wet flies and streamers.
