The printing on these strips is very authentic, when wrapped, it mimics the natural ribs on an insect body.
They are also transparent, so the color of the underbody shows through. This makes the color of your pattern more gradient and gives your fly an extra dimension.
The strips are self-adhesive, simply peel off and wrap around the fly body. You can top it off with a thin coat of UV varnish to give it that extra touch and create a translucent, shiny, 3D appearance.
Great for tying buzzers and nymphs, but also can be used for dries, spiders, etc.
These quills come in three sizes, Small having the thinnest 'ribbing' line, perfect for small, fine flies, Medium - great for most applications, and Large having the thickest 'rib' for larger flies, or large segments.

The Magic Body Quills are good, but..... The stripe is a second piece added as part of the manufacturing process and it can come off of the main strip; It did on mine. The lack of taper makes it harder to start on the fly, but you can taper it yourself with sharp scissors. I do love how the underbody color comes through and the overall effect once complete is excellent. Not my first choice, but a great choice for synthetic body quill.
