HND's Gel Floatant is a water-repelling gel that perfectly coats your fly and provides a barrier that keeps the moisture out and your fly dry and floating. It penetrates deep into the fly material and works from the inside out, making the barrier even better performing. Designed specifically for those fly fishers who prefer to dress the flies with their fingers. In addition, this is a great choice of a floatant when only certain areas of the fly need to be treated - it provides precision and control. It works great on all dry flies, including those tied with Cul de Canard (CDC) materials. It handles the temperature variances effectively and maintains its viscosity in any extreme weather condition, hot or cold.
To use it, drop a small amount on a finger and work it in to the areas of the fly you want dressed. Always apply the floatant to a fly that is completely dry. A tip to make your fly float in a more natural way is to apply the gel floatant to the hair part of the fly only and avoid applying it to the shank/hook.
Delivered in a Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) bottle. This packaging allows for the maximum control of the desired amount of floatant to be applied. The cap is attached to the container to allow the fly fisher a minimum of distraction when applying floatants. A full 34 grams of pure floatant is provided in a 1 oz. container, compared to a ½ oz. (about 15 grams) provided by most competitors.
