Muddler Minnow is a fly that is irresistible to fish and definitely must have a place in every fly box. This pattern was originated by Don Gapen and now they are many variations to it.

Starlite Muddler Minnow is a very effective pattern in a variety of river conditions. With correct presentation, it simply catches fish when other flies fail. This is the weighted option of M. Minnow and can represent sculpins and a variety of aquatic and terrestrial insects.

When fishing for salmon with this fly, slow down the presentation a bit. Let it swing, you can twitch it a bit and strip in slowly. Don’t rush to make another cast as it will be frequently taken on the end of your drift. Steelhead will also smash it on the faster swing and more energetic strips. Perfect for river or lake fishing.

We wouldn’t go to water without a few of these in our fly box. Guaranteed to catch some great fish.
