Peacock Herl – Hand-Selected
Peacock herl is an indispensable material when it comes to fly tying, great for both conventional as well as innovative fly patterns. It is one of the most effective and most versatile fly tying materials, perfect for terrestrial flies, dry flies, wet flies, nymphs, and streamers. It has a brilliant, metallic-green hue that reflects light. Naturally iridescent, it attracts fish and makes any pattern super-attractive. This material works great for making fishy-looking backs on large streamers. It is also a great way to add some sheen to your favorite steelhead patterns.
Troutline’s Peacock Herl was carefully hand-selected, and only the finest herls from feather stems were included. Each herl is cut by hand with fine, sharp scissors. This tedious and time-consuming operation results in herls that are of the finest quality, shiny, nice, and straight, not pinched or twisted. These herls are durable and will not break when spun tight. The pack is nicely packed and dense and contains approximately 160 herls. This peacock herl can be used like it is, in a dubbing loop or twisted on a tying thread.
