Mini Mouse Fly is a realistic looking and effective fishing fly. It has a furry body, glassy eyes and a long tail. Being a juicy and large-size meal, it is rarely passed by a hungry fish. If you haven’t tried fishing mouse patterns, now is a great time to start.

This pattern comes in a #6 hook size. Its length, without the tail is 3 cm (1.2”).

Fishing Mouse Fly Patterns

Mouse skated across the water can bring out some explosive strikes and the really big fish to the net. You can cast it upstream and across and then strip the mouse back, using some twitching motion. You can also swing it,  let the water column pull it, make the tension and twitch it while the mouse drifts across.

Early AM or late PM are the usually best times to fish mouse pattern, but doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fish with it during the day.

Strikes are usually explosive and splashy which will ensure you will have some unforgettable moments on the water.
