Furry Muddler Fly is a very effective pattern, irresistible to fish, and great for a variety of river conditions. This is a weighted version of a muddler fly and can mimic sculpins and a variety of aquatic and terrestrial insects. The tail and wings are tied with natural rabbit fur. The heads are made of alternately tied dyed elk fur and natural roe deer fur.
When fishing for salmon with this fly, slow down the presentation a bit. Let it swing, you can twitch it a bit and strip in slowly. Don’t rush to make another cast as it will be frequently taken on the end of your drift. Steelhead will also smash it on the faster swing and more energetic strips.
Perfect for river or lake fishing in all depths of water. It can be swung, stripped, or dead drifted. Also great to use in fast water and whir pools. The muddler can be led with fast strips so that they would occasionally jump from the water and dive.
Furry Muddler Fly definitely must have a place in every fly box – with correct presentation it simply catches fish when other flies fail. Guaranteed to catch some great fish.
Comes in six colors: Natural, Pink, Chartreuse, Orange, Purple, and Black, and hook sizes #4, #6 & #8.
