Bead Head Mirage Back Scud
Here, Corey shows us how to tie his Bead Head Mirage Back Scud – a great and simple pattern that works well for trout, panfish, bass… It is an all-around good fly, very versatile, great for Czech nymphing, dead drifting.
Ingredients
- Hook: Maruto Shrimp & Caddis Fly Hooks, Size 14, model c46
- Bead 3/32nd Brass Bead, Silver, or Tungsten Beads in 2.5mm size, silver color
- Rib: Small-Medium Copper Wire, a great choice would be a Hemingway’s Ultra Fine Wire 0.1mm in Brown
- Shell Case: Medium UTC Mirage Tinsel, or try Flashback Foil strips
- Dubbing: ready-made Hemingway’s Hare Plus UV or a blend of Australian Opossum, soft Antron fibres, and Hemingway’s Frosty Dubbing
