Dimitri Ristic Tying Stonefly Nymph @ Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club

I had a great opportunity to meet with members of the Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club, Mississauga, Ontario by attending their fly tying presentation meeting on Tuesday, Dec 2, 2014, as a special guest of Dimitri Ristic, their long time member & master fly tyer with many years of fly tying experience.

Dimitri described in detail different life cycle stages of the stonefly, revealing some of his special tips on tying and presenting this fly on the river. He then demonstrated the technique of tying stonefly nymph, introducing Hemingway’s materials and showing how to apply them to tie this fly.

We all learned a lot. Thanks Dimitri for sharing your knowledge and thanks to Izaak Walton FF Club for having me and giving me the opportunity to introduce Hemingway’s materials.

Check out the IWFFC’s post to see Dimitri’s tying steps and some of the flies he has tied.

Tight lines,
Boris
